In a week that saw papers enter a frenzy over tweets apparently written by fighters in Syria and Iraq, and the White House stepped up airport security measures despite admitting that there is no specific threat, It appeared that Channel 4 News in a debate between an aid worker and fighter-trainer in Syria on one side and an MP and think tank fellow on the other, was the only place where the cooling balm of reasoned discussion could be witnessed.
