Zionist Entity’s Illegal Killing of Ismail Haniyeh Will Strengthen Resistance to Israel
London - The extrajudicial killing of resistance leader Ismail Haniyeh, the political leader of Hamas, in Tehran, is a violation of Iranian sovereignty and exemplifies the Zionist entity’s disregard of international law, supported by the USA and its western allies. No other state in modern history has been given licence to carry out assassinations with impunity.
Israel has cemented its status as a rogue nation that enacts genocidal violence as a norm. Haniyeh was actively engaged in negotiations to end the genocide in Gaza. His murder signals Israel’s intention to increase its killing spree in Gaza.
Israel continues to act in defiance of countless UN Security Council resolutions and judgments of the International Court of Justice. Its long history of illegal occupation, apartheid and genocidal aggression against the Palestinian people is under investigation by the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity.
Muhammad Rabbani, Managing Director of CAGE International, said:
"This illegal killing of Haniyeh will only escalate the cycle of conflict and resistance. The Palestinian people's demand for freedom and justice remains unwavering.
The Zionist entity’s strategy of targeting Palestinian leaders in an attempt to destabilise and weaken the resistance has failed in the past and will continue to fail in the future. So long as illegal occupation, apartheid and the denial of Palestinian’s right to return remains, resistance to Israel will always exist."
