Last month CAGE called on you to sign a petition calling for proper access to medical treatment and the release of British citizen Ali Adorus, who has been tortured and detained in Ethiopia without much assistance from the British. Here is a compilation of just some of the supportive messages from those who knew Ali well to those who are signing because they believe in justice. Please continue to sign this petition to call for his immediate release. For more information on Ali Adorus’s case please see here.

I would like to say thank you & jazakallah khair to all those who are supporting my husband and signing the petition. It means so much to me and his family and we are really touched by the kind words left in the comments. We will get him home soon inshallah!
This man is not a violent man he is one of the humblest guys in the world and has been imprisoned unjustly
• Relative DALLAS, TX
Ali is my cousin, my brother, I've known him when I was in London.
And I witnessed that he is the most kind, beautiful and innocent human being i seen in my life. Generous to everything and everyone.
• Supporter LAHORE, PAKISTAN
This is important to me because I support HUMANITY. I don't care if this person is Muslim or not. If he hasn't done anything wrong then he does not deserve this treatment AT ALL.
• Friend HORLEY, UNITED KINGDOM
Ali is a gentle young man. He is tall and strong but when in his presence you only feel his kindness. For him to be treated badly in any way is a travesty, let alone to be tortured and denied medical treatment. He must be saved from any more suffering.
Injustice against a human being, how can we as humans allow this, we are supposed to be better than animals but our actions say otherwise. Please help release him ASAP!!!!
• Friend MILTON KEYNES, UNITED KINGDOM
This is one of the most humble and compassionate people I have known to walk this earth, he deserves his human rights an the rights of the EU. Stop allowing the wrong people to die!!!
The injustice is unimaginable. When will the UK step in and protect its citizens' basic human rights? This could be any of us tomorrow, how many will Britain turn a blind eye to?
• Supporter ILFORD, UNITED KINGDOM
This is a clear breach of the human rights act subject to to section referring to an unbiased trial and subject to innocent till proven guilty
British Nationals deserve the support of the British legal system and courts to obtain a fair trial.
I have known Ali Adorus for over 18 years we grew up in the same area and I have seen nothing except good manners and an upstanding citizen who is a pillar of the community known and loved by all those he has met. The whole of Newington Green will be praying for his release
• Supporter COLOMBO, INDIA
William Hague, you keep preaching human rights, now it's your time to practice it!!
I've known Ali for most of my life, he's a very respectful man who doesn't deserves this. My heart and thoughts goes out to his family.
